Chef Mark Aker is bringing the best of Chicago BBQ to the heart of Wisconsin
Barbecue has been Chef Mark Akers lifelong pursuit.

After a storied career as Executive Chef for the elegant Chicago Highlands Club, Mark earned his stripes as Executive Chef of Catering for the legendary Sweet Baby Rays.

Now hes decided to team up with his wife and brother to bring classic BBQ to the sunny shores of Castle Rock Lake in Friendship-Adams. And so, Shady Akers BBQ was born.

Maintaining the unique spirit and storied traditions of the buildings predecessors - Lucys, D&Ds, and Oles - complete with bar games and everyones favorite train surprise -

Chef Mark will be dishing up scratch-made classics like pulled pork, wings, and brisket. And of course, Wisconsin-favorite BBQ Loaded Fries with cheese curds and gravy, perfect for a winters day.

Conveniently located on County Road Z at the Railroad Tracks, Shady Akers is also a great place to warm up along the famous Wisconsin Snowmobile routes.
