     The quote above, from the late and noted Jewish social worker Stanley Horowitz, typifies the beauty to be found in our own Adams County from season to season.  Whether you're a first-time traveler, long-time visitor, or full-time resident, you can find your place - for as long as you care to dwell - here.

     As you'll soon discover, Adams County holds treasures whose value cannot be measured monetarily.  Indeed, some of the greatest adverntures to be found will cost you only the time and curiosity it takes to find and enjoy them.

     For instance, in our etching of winter, the stark, silent landscape of a frozen field can reveal the symphony of survival certain four-legged residents perform year after year.  Your hiking boots, cross-country skis, or snowmobile can be the means by which such wonders are revealed.

     In our watercolor spring, our county's wildflower population returns in abundance.  Their brilliant, yet delicate hues seem to hint at the coming festival of flora and fauna that the summer months will soon embrace.

     Once the oil-painted summer has begun, your adventures can turn to the pure, flowing waters of our county.  There you can participate in the excitement and fun that fishing, kayaking, water skiing, and swimming generate for all generations.

     And in the fall, the mosaic is complete, as hunters and four-wheelers share the miles and miles of trails that criss-cross through the Adams County woodlands, each seeing their own form of back-to-nature activity.
